These photos are all taken through the rather grubby glass of my little conservatory - the only possible place that had the right vantage point.
Note: get out the vinegar for some serious window cleaning!
There's something about sunflowers that makes me smile - they just look so happy and have a simple almost child-like quality. And they're so easy to grow. I particularly like these dark rusty colours - I think the variety was 'Earth Walker'...or maybe 'Velvet Queen'... or both. I forgot to label them.

Hello Diana. Sunflowers make me smile too; I think there is something so wonderfully childlike about them. Your photos are gorgeous and need making into cards or something. Thanks for the spam warning - 16 is the most i have ever had!!! xx
Hi, it's my first time visiting your blog. I love it :)
Beautiful sunflowers and now that you mention it, I need to clean my windows too LOL
Have a great weekend,
Sandra
Never mind washing the windows when you have these beauties to look at. I didn't see a speck of dirt.
Wonderful photographs Diana! You have really captured the gorgeous light and colour. I had some sunflowers given to me as wee sprouts by Caireen who grew them from seeds that Melissa (tinyhappy) sent her. All was well until I finally put them in the border and the slugs ate them - well the leaves and flower buds. All I have are stalks! So - it's not so easy to grow them!
What a lovely Blog - we are still waiting for a lovely sunny day in Yorkshire!! I am just dropping in to introduce myself - I am Helen a Mum of one delightful and dearly beloved daughter - techer of Drama and lover of all thinks beautiful.
What gorgeous sunflowers and beautifully photographed.
My sunflowers got eaten this year, I think. I love these darker ones that seems to be becoming more popular now, the colours are so right for this time of year.
your sunflowers are a gorgeous colour. i love the shots which show the back of the petals.
finally a good bit of sunshine... please may it continue a little longer...
love ginny x
I love that last photo. Just planted my sunflowers last week, they're all popping out now, and starting to grow.

Now I am sure that I wouldn't have noticed the windows if you hadn't mentioned them. Too much sunshine on the other side to distract me!
These are just the beautiful colours I associate with this time of year.. golden and mellow.
Wasn't it wonderful to have some of the warm stuff this weekend!
Warm greetings..
Michele xx
I love sunflowers too. My sister had sunflowers at her wedding - bouquet, buttonholes, on the cake, even on the fabric wrapping the almonds. Gorgeous.
Your sunflowers are lovely. What amazing colors. And the windows look fine to me! K x
