Warm as toast

One of the advantages of holding the fort at the b&b over the weekend was snuggling up in front of the woodburner each evening, with nothing to distract me apart from the mesmerising flames and my knitting. Two long stints, and I finished these.

Made specifically for dog-walking (my use, not Walter's), I used a purple and a grey jaeger dk merino from my stash, two strands held together. This makes rather dense, thick wristwarmers, but perfect for keeping out the cold. One of them has a slightly-too-tight bind off, but I can just about get it on and off.

Also, binding off in the round means I get this last loose stitch which doesn't join up properly. Any tips on what I should be doing here? I stitched it up when weaving in the ends, and it doesn't show as the cuff rolls back, but there must be something I'm missing somewhere....

Oooh! They look fab on Walter! Are you sure they aren't for him?

And I've had the same problem with the loop at the end, so you're not alone... K x

Walter looks very warm! I do the same thing with that extra stitch. I'm sure there is a clever way round it but I've never felt the need to find out!

I've been making wristwarmers this week but the yarn isn't as beautiful as your lovely pair... very handsomely modelled by Walter! I deal with that last stitch just like you too!

Aww, you can't take those warmers away from Walter! Sorry, can't help with the loose stitch problem but they do look lovely.

Walter looks very happy and a willing model. Cannot help you with knitting problems - I seem to have to left hands.

That dog is spoilt! as Alfie is rather bald in places after an instrument of torture emoved all his knotty bits recently, I think he would like a few knitted garments as he is refusing to go out at the moment for far of teasing from the real moggies outside!! going to start the scarf while on holiday in Whitby tomorrow (The most wonderful place in Yorkshire)

I thought they were for Walter - silly me.

And I have the same thing with the cast off, but have been sewing it in and then it seems to sort itself out as the sock or wristwarmer or whatever wears itself in.

I so wish I could knit, these will be so snug, especially on a day like today. You must make another two pairs, they look great on Walter too! He does seem to love them so. x

Walter looks quite adorable, you'll have to watch out or he might pinch them.
