a random conversation

Late afternoon today I was walking Walter down through town to the sea for our afternoon constitutional.

The park was busy - students on easter hols sprawled over the grass, the odd holiday-maker... and an elderly lady. As we were passing by, she paused and greeted Walter, telling him how handsome he was, and didn't he know it! Walter laps up all this attention, while I smile and agree (of course) and say:

"Yes, he does know, I tell him every day how gorgeous he is".

She laughs, and then says:

"Of course, it's like men, you have to be nice to them, praise them (don't criticise) ....and then they just have that look about them, and they puff their chests out."

I knew exactly what she meant. And I'm still chuckling.

I once read something about how you can train men - like dogs!!! They should teach us useful things like this in school! xxxx

My friend and I often muse how like dogs men are- I don't mean in a bad way... Her husband is a cricketer and if she wants a serious conversation with him hides his shiney red ball, then conversation over she gives it back and lets him go play on the field with the other puppies =O)

Walter is very handsom though.

Heh, heh... oi! Cheeky! I think most people feel a little chest puffed up when they are praised, women too!

Cats only look like that when you offer them something!!

Walter is beautiful tho'. I may be a man, but I can only be trained if I choose to be... I have often been inspired by cats!

Clicking on the link made me feel so homesick for Cornwall because I know that route so well. I can just imagine the sunshine and the salty air.
