Already a week of May has gone by, and I have been distracted by scraping layers of paint off my dilapidated conservatory, and having all the rotten bits cut away and replaced. So not much to tell really, unless you want tales of achey muscles and a sore back! I am rather excited by this little project, as it will give my little house a much-needed face-lift. Next project will be the garden.
I meant to post these photos a little while ago, when the daffodils in the fields were still vibrant and bright instead of withered and brown. They're from a little pack of postcards of etchings of old-fashioned cornish daffodils, and I think they're rather beautiful. They're by local artist Sally Corbet.

Blogworld is astonishing. Sally Corbett interviewed me for University and I nearly did a PhD with her. She specialises in bees and had her own bluebell wood in Cornwall (!). It all fits in. I Googled her and there are the daffodil images! She is a very lovely lady. I distinctly remember an essay I wrote for her about DNA and bees.

What lovely cards, I am sure I have seen something like them before, I felt sad yesterday to see all the daffodils have now died back, they are so cheerful. But the blossom lifts our hearts...H
Beautiful cards. Sally is the most amazing scientist and artist. She is a wonderful person and the best PhD advisor I can think of.
