september

Hello September! How happy I am that you've finally arrived to mark the beginning of my favourite season. Traditionally, a season of transition and change, and for me the best time of year. As it's also a time of letting go I'm continuing with the daily de-cluttering, albeit at a slightly slower pace.

don't talk to me about de-cluttering... I'm dreaming of Monday when they're at school and the house will be MINE again!!

Beautiful picture Diana. I really need to do a declutter but am not making much headway. I think your idea of getting rid of five things a day is such a good idea. I think if I start off with one thing a day it would be a good start! x

I am thoroughly ashamed of the state of my house at the moment.

I am putting big vases of dahlias around the house in an attempt to distract from the general mess!

My house will be oddly empty tomorow with the girls back at school - it might be the perfect opportunity for decluttering but I'm not sure I can face it! It might be a day for treats ...

I seem to recall we have had a discussion about decluttering before - Some people are just not designed to be "minimalist" . My house is full to bursting - but I always regret it when I have thrown something out !!!xxxx

I've welcomed September and the promise of autumn days, too. As for decluttering, what's that again?

I love September too, and the decluttering bug has well and truly bitten me. It's liberating to let go of stuff and let the more interesting stuff 'breathe'

Happy September! And on the topic of decluttering...the more and more I think about it, the more I become less materialistic. I used to want a big house...now...no way...too much space to fill up with things and then the never ending task of cleaning and battling against the dust...give me a simple, clean, small home with a few special pieces! Amen! :) xxx

I was so excited to receive your little parcel in the post today! Thank you so much for making me one of the beneficiaries of your decluttering - it takes time to pass things on thoughtfully and I greatly appreciate it. I shall enjoy practising my Danish too :-)

I'm really impressed with your five a day. Are you prepared to share some of your list with us with reasons for and against keeping and why they finally had to go?
I've started with a "use it or lose it" policy on my fleece stash. Problem is I then end up with a handspun yarn stash.

I do feel that August went too quickly but September is so very, very good.
