Not surprisingly, I just couldn't resist the first stamp issue of 2011. A set of Thunderbirds stamps, celebrating the work of Gerry Anderson. If you're unfamiliar with the cult tv series, and the fabulous technique, Supermarionation, see some clips here and here.
The stamps are great fun - it's just a shame they didn't include Lady Penelope.
Happy weekend to you!

All I can say is "Stingray, Stingray"
Have a good weekend too.
Aren't they fab?! I used to tell my nephews I was born on Tracy Island!
Ooh stamp collecting, now that takes me back to my childhood!
I wonder why they missed LP. They do look fun though.
No Lady Penelope? So no Parker, then.
I used to love Thunderbirds! My boys think I'm totally sad that I can still name all the Tracey boys and which Thunderbird they piloted. F.A.B.
WHAT??? No Lady Penelope?! That's terrible. They should have had one with her and Parker in front of that Pink Rolls Royce. Milady.
Thunderbirds...are Go! The Rezillos did a song about Thunderbirds which is a lot of fun.
I was much more of a Stingray fan! I adored the Aqua Marina song at the end!!! x
They look fun but you're right, where is Lady Penelope!

Lady Penelope & her pink Rolls Royce and chauffeur, Parker, should get their own stamp series!
Lady Penelope and Parker could so easily have shared the space on a stamp. A 60p stamp is missing in this set, they could have been on that! x
