It's common to see a sky full of starlings at dusk throughout the winter months, as they journey to their roosting habitat at nearby Marazion Marshes. They often linger in a tree here and there, or on a rooftop. Several winters ago I had the pleasure of them in my garden, a fleeting visit that turned the sky black.
I like to linger too, and watch them as they fly away. They make a beautiful silhouette against the fading sky.

I *love* these photos.
Beautiful photographs. I would love to be able to turn the first one into a papercut but think it might be a little too fiddly!
What beautiful photographs. You have brought back memories for me; as a child I spent a few years in Norfolk. Huge flocks of starlings were a common sight there in the evening. It is fascinating the way they whirl around in the sky like black storm clouds.
Your photographs capture the busyness, the coming -and-going of starlings. We have just a few on the bird table each day, but my son in Cornwall is seeing thousands of them as he drives around the countryside.
We have a flock or murmuration (love that) of starlings that swoop into our oak tree every year and spend a few weeks chattering their heads off in vast numbers several times a day. I love it and it often brings me to the window to see them. Hope you are well lovely xx
How beautiful!
