Fifty pence worth of spring cheer.
I picked up this tiny bunch of violets at the market this morning. This tiny mug was the closest thing to hand to pop them in when I got home. The proportions are all wrong, but I like how they look. They may just stay there.

The violets are beautiful and such a bargin! Great socks in the previous post too!
Oh, your lovely violets remind me of my mother's garden. There is no place that I know of in New York that would actually sell these beauties. (Below any commercial thoughts. Too delicate.)

I love violets Diana. Did you know that they don't drink water like other flowers once cut, so to keep them fresh you need to either turn them upside down to allow the heads to be immersed in water or pray them with a mister? There you go, a Pip's Tip for the day! Will email over the weekend my lovely xx
I love them just as they are in that siple white mug. I saw vilets growing on my walk yesterday and their perfume was wonderful.
So lovely Diana, violets are such a delicate and special little flower, how lovely to be able to buy some. They remind me of walks in the country seeing them nestling in the hedgerows, truely a first sign of Spring!
Have a great weekend
I have never seen violets for sale. Hopefully, I will see some in my garden this spring. Violets make me think of the Victorian period. x
What a great find. I haven't seen bunches of violets round these parts since I was a kid (when we used to buy them to play bridesmaids!). Have a lovely weekend.
They're beautiful, Diana :-)
I always have to buy violets if I see them, and we've lots in the garden too.
Hope you have a lovely weekend - it's sunny here and I hope the rays are reaching Cornwall too,

Only 50p, they are just so gorgeous. Haven't ever seen anything as pretty as this for sale in our local florists. I do have violets in my garden, but not such a deep colour or long stem. x
Very sweet!
They are the lovliest thing I have seen all day! Thankyou for posting them x
There seems to have been a lot of Cornish violets this year -how beautiful they are..
perfectly lovely xoles Gang
Oh what cheer, a very wise buy.
Flowers always make me happy...they look rather cute! xxx
Beautiful in their simplicity Diana. No violets here as yet, I do look forward to their lovely fragrance.
