I use the recipe from this book, and it never fails to delight. How do you like your strawberries?

I can see a month has gone by with little thought for my blog. Looking back it seems it's been a time of both extreme busy-ness, and a time of doing nothing much at all. There was also one week where I was over-the-top grumpy, and irritated myself beyond measure. That's just how life goes.... sometimes it's pretty jammy, and sometimes it isn't.

Yum! The month of May has flown by Diana - so much for an extra get-together squeezed in. Bit grumpy here too and definitely much procrastination taking place...sigh. Take care lovely xx
I like mine at room temperature, straight from the punnet! There's usually a bit of a squabble between me and No2 as to who gets the biggest one!
I like mine sitting next to the strawberry plant warm from the sun - but since that happens about once each summer, I really like them with ice cream. Come here Tracy - you can have all the big ones as I like the little ones!
My mother-in-law puts booze on them. It's not altogether unpleasant.
Hope the jam making made you feel less jammy, so to speak. It has made me feel quite hungry thinking of it swirled in yogurt!

Oooh they look so yummy. My Mum makes freezer jam with strawberries and now that's wonderful swirled in yoghurt. You have now prompted me to get the recipe and make some.
I like them piled in a bowl with fresh cream poured over. But right now I want jam!
Glad life is jammy right now. I was about to make contact seeing as you've been off the radar so long. Hoping to see you soon, no plans as yet but will let you know x
Hello again, have not been to your place for a while, I'm sorry, but enjoying the freshness of your strawberries today, thank you! Hope you and Walter are keeping good. Come visit me for a little cuppa and a stroll in Paris! :-) Hugs, Lori xxx
It's way too early for ripe strawberries to appear at our New York City farmer's markets, and the strawberries on sale at other grocery shops are Not Ripe. I will wait.
I do agree with you that May has been a bit of a tricky month.
I do hope that June's vibes will be generous to all of us. Let the sun shine, as folks once sang!
Cheers!
I have that book!!... must try this recipe..
Mmm! I just made strawberry ice pops and strawberry gelato and G is out picking more already. Must get over my fear of jam-making!

Must be something in the air - I have had the grumps too! I had strawberries this morning - in a soya flour pancake with creme fraiche - delicious!
I use the same recipe - love that you can do it without making your own bodyweight in jam!! Leaves me more to eat in berry form.
