I already have single balls of turquoise, red and purple, purchased locally. What I hadn't realized was that this is in fact crochet thread, made from hemp and linen. I don't crochet (yet?), but am happy to use it for tying up parcels and other decorative purposes. After all, it looks like string to me.

stash
Most of you know I have a weakness for string, so when Kemps had boxes of turquoise twine on offer, I was powerless to resist.

I already have single balls of turquoise, red and purple, purchased locally. What I hadn't realized was that this is in fact crochet thread, made from hemp and linen. I don't crochet (yet?), but am happy to use it for tying up parcels and other decorative purposes. After all, it looks like string to me.

it's a dangerous place that kemps website....... love the colour xxx
What's not to like about turquoise string!
I also 'trumped' a batch of crochet thread in oxfam once - I use it to make my tags, and as you say tie up parcels etc - lovely quality as is 100percent cotton. Your stash has a fantastic colour! Cx
Yeah - I've go some crochet stuff too. But it's pink and I prefer your turquoise. Although with Valentines Day approaching, perhaps I should bust it out.
Hmmm, what I could crochet with that! Thanks for the link too, I'd not heard of them before.
It looks very lovely to me...I am sure you have been on the Nuttals (I think thats what they are callled) website..I over induldged but they do little packs and some on bobbins...bliss...and too nice to use...have a good week...H
You could knit with it too I suppose, especially with the other colours. I use ribbon for tying up parcels... and then try and grab the ribbon back after!! It's recycling! At least that's my excuse.
I'd never heard of crochet thread before. Such a gorgeous color! K x
