skywards

A walk in my favourite woods, looking up through the branches.

The shapes remind me of pieces of a jigsaw neatly slotting together. My camera battery ran out of juice after the last photo, otherwise I would have taken more.

I always like these photographs. I took something similar when I was out today and thought of you. The sky was beautifully blue and clear all day - roll on spring.

Love the clear delineations between the trees. I so rarely look up these days - thanks for reminding me that I really should do so.

How strange that they almost fit together like a jigsaw. I think the pattern would make a lovely fabric! (Great minds think alike as I have just read that marigold jam has said the same!!!) x

Hmm, are you sure these trees aren't planted upside down in the sky? With all their roots showing?

I love the way the gaps are so neat.

Those pictures are fantastic! I love how things in nature mirror other parts ~ static electricity, roots.

I read somewhere that in the canopy of the jungle, the gaps are between the trees because of the monkeys jumping so often through the branches. Don't know if it's really true, but it's fun to think about!

What beautiful pictures. Remind me of feathers on the snow. How I miss tall straight trees living here on this windswept rocky outcrop!

Wow. These images are stunning - there's something ancient about them they're quite moving in a way.

BTW thanks so much for that link to eatweeds - I've added it to my post. It looks like a fantastic resource for recipes - thanks Diana!

What amazing shapes - so angular.

I love these images. It amazes me how the trees leave just the same amount of space between branches ... And any backdrop of blue sky makes me smile :-)
Happy days to you,
