beginning

Can it be March already? It certainly is. I'm welcoming it in with new socks on my needles - the Paul Atwell socks. I love this pattern already (thanks Susan!), and Asti's yarn is a delight to knit with. The semi-solid colour (water kelpie) is perfect to show off this pattern.

These have been nicknamed my seaside socks... can you see the gulls? Wings down as shown above!

That is a lovely shade of blue.

Such patience! I still have a pair of 4ply socks on kneedles since last year. Abandoned I am afraid for chunky baby knitting. I am too impatient to knit!! Give me my sewing machine and you will have a suit by tomorrow!
Your socks are great and yes I can see the gull's wings.

"Water kelpie" - you'd have to knit with it just because of the name!

A scary creature, the kelpie - be careful wearing those socks!

Loving how they are coming along! Glad you are enjoying the process - socks are so portable :) xx

I'm so glad you like the pattern. It may sound odd to non-knitters, but it is such fun to do -- picking up the strand every four rows is a treat!

The colour is gorgeous...

I've yet to venture into the world of the sock.......but I'm getting very tempted especially when I see such lovliness.
