pottering

A weekend forecast of heavy rain never materialised. Instead, warm and almost balmy would best describe my sunday. Mild enough to be pottering in the garden for the afternoon, starting a little clear-up. Mostly this involved scraping moss off the patio, and pulling out the weeds from all the little crevices between the paving slabs.

There was even a pause for tea outside. Out came the 'gardening mug' - an old enamel camping mug, a little worn and battered around the edges, and all the better for it.

Today my achey muscles are reminding me that I did more bending, stretching and crouching in a single afternoon than I have all winter. And it feels good!

Finally, spring is making her presence felt.

We had the most lovely of days today to mark the 1st March and therefore, spring, as far as I'm concerned!
My walk with Pip though, was decidedly muddy to say the least after the rainy weekend!
I really need to get out in my garden for a tidy up...

Yesterday was a washout but today was glorious sunshine and I fell asleep with all my gardeny intentions gone out of the window. Let us hope that tomorrow is another lovely day so we can get on! I hope your muscles soon recover! x

Wasn't yesterday lovely in the end? We did the same, having dismantled our newly acquired greenhouse over the past few weeks, we have started to put it all back together on its new base - it looks like new!!

We also had lovely weather the last few days and the allotment is looking good. Like you the old bones are feeling it, long soak in the bath is called for I think. Have a good day.

I too spent a wonderful afternoon on Sunday in the garden - and I felt so much better for it. I gave my winter flowering jasmine a real short back and sides! We are heading in the right direction. PS Love that mug, xxx

Isn't it a wonderful feeling when you realise that Spring is actually on its way. It looks like another day of sunshine for us too.

Its a bright sunny morning and I am not working today so I am looking forward to some pottering in garden and allotment.
Not a single daffodil for St David's day yesterday, but spring is on its way although a little slow this year.

Ah it sounds as though Cornwall has been quite balmy. Today is our second sunny day, and it makes my heart sing.
I am so much looking forward to tending the garden, the soil is still soggy as a bath sponge at the moment, but soon Spring will be here and some drier days.
Wishing you more sunshine this week,
Happy days!

I think we had your rain at the weekend, but Monday and Tuesday have been balmy and the garden beckons.

Today is just glorious and as far as I'm concerned its now officially spring! I feel like a weight has been lifted ...

The garden beckoned me today - pop over and see some latest photos of Jess and Bobbi!

I'm soooo loving this weather at the moment though I've only managed the tea on the doorstep so far. I'm building myself up to the garden.

I am glad you had a good day - it has been quite sunny here - at last! But all is so wet in the garden, and our soil is quite heavy so we can't do too much yet in the way of sowing, etc.

There's been sun here, too, highlighting all the work that needs doing in the garden (oh, all those broken pots). But I didn't do anything more energetic than look out of the window.
