ten :: it's time

I haven't had any sprouts yet this winter, but after a visit to my local farmers' market this morning, that will change this weekend.

I came home with a sprout 'tree'.

How do you like to eat yours? I might have a risotto.

Wishing you a happy weekend!

I haven't had any sprouts yet either. But you've made me wonder why.

I boil and blanch them (to keep the colour) then drain, and whizz them in the food processor with a handsome dollop of double cream, s & p, and a scratching of nutmeg, and EVERYBODY - even the pickiest child - loves them. Must be the green puree, like arty mashed potatoes, that fools them.

Halved, washed and stir-fried in sesame oil with coarse ground black pepper and salt or soy sauce. They need to keep a little crunch in 'em I think.

Don't like the thought of the poor little things being boiled to death. I treat them as I would cabbage.
